Sustainable, Alive, and Growing
Growing more vegetables using a biointensive method of farming!
Allthough, we are busy in the early part of our farming season we feel that it is import to share our humble bit of knowledge to help others maintain or grow a sustainable lifestyle. We are offering a class on biointensive growing methods that has been around for centuries and that may be used in small scale and home gardening. We have restructured our planting this year to allow for this method change and we feel it is going to provide us with many more years of sustainable agriculture.
With biointensive growing methods you build your soil and every year it grows a little more and a little more. In traditional organic farming methods the soil is depleted anywhere from 17-70 times faster then it is replaced. With biointensive growing you can create a 100% increase in soil fertility, use less water, and fertilizer can be reduced at a rate of 50+% per unit.
Our class begins on Saturday June 5th at 2:00 PM reserve early and bring your working cloths. This is a hands on class so be prepared to get your hands dirty. Class fee is 10.00 per person and you will not only receive a wealth of information to go home with but hands on applications.
